Cannabis plants are classified as industrial hemp or marijuana based on the amount of tetrahydrocannabiol (THC) present. According to the 2014 Farm Bill, industrial hemp cannot contain more than 0.3% THC on a dry weight basis – a nearly negligible amount – while marijuana strains can have 20-30% THC.
The human body possesses an endocannabinoid system, a system within the body whose receptors (CB1 and CB2) have an enormous impact on our health and well-being. While hemp extract oil’s benefits are still being tested, many studies connect hemp extract oil to reducing pain, anxiety, joint inflammation, acne, symptoms of epilepsy, insomnia, and a host of other ailments.
Before adding hemp extract oil to your regimen, as with any supplement, be sure to check with your doctor to make sure that it’s a good choice for you. This is especially true if you are taking certain anti-seizure medications.
Hemp extract oil can be safely consumed in a myriad of ways: tinctures, topicals, capsules or sublinguals. When taking CBD, always follow the instructions on the package of the product you have purchased. If you are new to CBD, a good starting dosage is 15-40 mg per day of active CBD ingredient. CBD impacts people differently – some adjustment might be necessary. Always take CBD products for a few days to receive maximum benefit.

Anyone who is concerned about having a positive drug test should avoid consuming hemp oils, including Root Bioscience products. In most cases, hemp products will not cause a positive drug test when consumed at suggested servings. However, tetrahydrocannabinol (THC) is present in trace amounts in our full spectrum products. The legal limit is no more than 0.3%. If you are subject to drug testing, we strongly suggest you not ingest hemp oil before talking with your healthcare provider, employer or drug screening company.
